Company Overview

The founders of the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) realized a long-standing dream when, after two years of planning and preparation, they opened University’s doors to its first incoming class in September 2013. The founders’ goal is to provide a strong post-secondary educational option in Cambodia to the citizens of the Kingdom.
The University provides a rigorous, principled, American-style educational opportunity to the youth of Cambodia, and is the first and only American-style university in the country. The U.S.-based curriculum is delivered entirely in English, and courses are taught by highly qualified American faculty members with significant teaching experience in the United States. History

It was a dream that spawned the American University of Phnom Penh. The founder, Dr. Chea Vandeth, a foreign educated Cambodian scholar, for almost ten (10) years before the start of AUPP thought about developing a high quality education institution in Cambodia. His attempts were unsuccessful, for during that time, it was impossible to find a partner institution to collaborate with and the general standards of living for most Cambodians prevented them from being able to support their children in a university with high tuition. 2
